Bigger, Better Scares
Last weekend, Phasmophobia developer Kinetic Games held a Q&A session with fans on Discord. Their responses yielded a look at what they want for the game in the future. They covered topics like upcoming features and additions, like new ghosts and assets, as well as larger milestone releases. If you have been enjoying Phasmophobia or are looking for a little more from it, you might find some of their plans of interest to you. Kinetic Games shared a short recap of some of the things they talked about.
The ghosts are the central focus in Phasmophobia. One of the most important aspects of the game is determining what kind of ghost you and your teammates are dealing with, of which there are currently fourteen different kinds. Kinetic Games are planning on adding more types of ghosts down the road, and with them new pieces of evidence to go with them. This seems to run a risk of expanding possibilities in the game, while not necessarily making it any deeper. Kinetic Games also mentioned that they have no plans for any other game modes or mod support. They say that, “Phasmophobia is and always will be: a co-op ghost hunting game”, so don’t expect them to budge on that.

While Phasmophobia is still in early access, the developers do intend to port the game to consoles, hopefully when it officially releases. They are also planning to revamp the VR framework to work with newer headsets and allow for a seated VR mode. Phasmophobia is out now on early access for PC.
