Be the Vengeful Ghost Girl in Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit

Conclude Your Unfinished Business With Extreme Prejudice

When it comes to Asian horror, there are few archetypes more iconic than the vengeful dead woman with her long, dark hair hanging over her face. In Japan, she’s called an onryo, while in Korea, she’s called a cheonyeo gwishin. Either way, she is presented as wearing white burial clothes and being very upset about something–and in pop culture, that anger often leads her to murder, whether or not her victims were responsible for the wrongs visited on her in life. Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit tells this story once more, but from the perspective of the angry ghost. And yes, it is every bit as fascinating as it sounds.

In this horror stealth game, players take on the role of a young girl living in an alternate 1920s Korea, killed in a military attack on her village. She makes a deal with Jeoseung Saja, the God of Death, to return to the world of the living and save her brother… and immediately starts possessing members of the army that killed her and begins racking up a body count. Game features include:

  • A Girl and a Ghost: A defenseless child surrounded by enemies, the game’s phantasmal protagonist can take life force (Qi) from living creatures, turn into a ghost and possess them.
  • A Story of Vengeance: Having made a deal with death, the girl must defeat the marauding army through stealth and combat.
  • A Delicate Balance: Challenging situations call for clever solutions, will you go the stealthy route, possessing your foes and sneaking past problems, or will you go with brute force, and fight your way through the situation?

Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit will be available for Windows PC via Steam in Q2 2021. A playable Prologue is available now.
