3. Organization Options
Further to this game version indicator it would be amazing to have some options to organize what’s on your PS5. Right now there’s no ability to pin games or adjust the content or the number of items on the home screen and it’s kind of a bummer. No one really wants to have to spend more time finding their most-played or favorite title when they would rather just jump into it. And if you were hoping to easily find your trophies you’re out of luck here. Again, the new interface is awesome, especially the nice addition of activities, but without the ability to really make your new console feel like your own, it’s a bit disappointing.
2. Themes and Color Options
The PS5 has an obvious lack of customization right now and though the gold aesthetic Sony has provided is more than pleasing to the eye, we really need to be able to add a bit more personality to the new system. A bit more flare, if you will. After all, if we’re spending all our time on the PS5 we want to see just how pretty it is in different colors and with different pop culture or gaming themes, right? Sony needs to push through an update that has, at the very least, a handful of different colors and free themes to work with right now and then they can expand this as time goes on.
1. Quick Resume
With the Xbox Series X|S players have the ability to flip between multiple different games and all without having to close any one of them. This quick resume feature gives Microsoft a significant leg up over Sony right now. Yes, the PlayStation 5 is lightning fast, and sure you can get right back at your game quickly as a result but it’s just not as convenient. Not only do you not start where you left off but you will also lose any unsaved progress if you close out of a game without a recent save. Instead of closing each game just to boot up the next one it’d be great to go between two or three games quickly and start exactly where you last left off. This is especially true if you’re a player like me that tends to bounce between a couple games at any given time. Some are reporting that this quick resume feature doesn’t work 100% of the time on the Xbox Series X|S so if Sony was smart they’d get to work on a reliable quick resume feature and add it to the PS5.
