Xbox Series X Release Marks Microsoft’s Largest Launch Day to Date

The Latest Microsoft Console Has an Incredible Launch Day

The Xbox Series X and Series S consoles released earlier this week on November 10th. The day gave Microsoft plenty to celebrate as they held their Xbox Launch Celebration stream. Well launch day is over but Microsoft is still celebrating as the Xbox Series X marks the largest console launch in Xbox history.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer posted on his twitter on November 11th, a day after the console’s initial launch.

It seems the generation is off to a great start and we might just have to take Spencer’s word on that as Microsoft isn’t likely to release any specific sales numbers, at least any time soon. In a recent interview with the Guardian, Spencer addressed the topic and had this to say.

““I know it seems manipulative and I’ll apologize for that, but I don’t want my team’s focus on [console sales]. The primary outcome of all the work that we do is how many players we see, and how often they play. That is what drives Xbox. If I start to highlight something else, both publicly and internally, it changes our focus.”

Xbox has been going hard on their campaign to make “play” available to everyone. Xbox Game Pass has been an incredible example of how the company is aiming to make games easily accessible to all. While the Xbox Series X may not have the same caliber of version exclusives as PlayStation, the amount of backwards compatible titles and access to a large library of games through game pass, makes the console a worthy competitor to it’s Sony counterpart, so it’s no surprise to hear the console had a successful launch day.

Have you picked up an Xbox Series X or Series S yet? Let us know! Oh, and please don’t vape into it.
