15 Minutes Xbox Series X Gameplay Yakuza: Like a Dragon
The Yakuza series is not known for its subtlety and the latest entry in the franchise is no different. Ichiban Kasuga is fresh on the scene and ready to become a hero but that doesn’t mean you have to worry about being straight faced and serious. The over the top antics and plethora of side quests that you know and love are all hear in glorious fashion as this turn based combat game throws everything at you regardless if it makes any sort of logical sense. Of course it looks stunningly beautiful on the Xbox Series X as you power up and go to town taking down bad guys and making a name for yourself, but why take our word for it? Check out our gameplay video below.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon steps away from Kazuma Kiryu and focuses instead on newcomer Ichiban Kasuga, a man who has been in prison for 18 years. With his whole life ahead of him he resolves to change his ways and embarks on a personal quest to become a hero. Yakuza: Like a Dragon features the usual collection of eclectic mini-games you would expect from the franchise like karaoke and go-karting. The game is also notable for its change-up of the combat system which traditionally has been a beat-em-up and instead has been swapped for traditional turn-based gameplay. These battles include context sensitive options, provided objects in the environment are near the enemy. While Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been a departure from the classic Yakuza series, it retains key features and elements that will be familiar and comfortable to long time fans of the series while offering a unique feel and providing a great jumping off point for newcomers not yet ready to play the previous seven main entries in the franchise.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is set for release on November 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with a PlayStation 5 edition launching in March of 2021. For more information check out the game’s official website.
