Yakuza Kiwami 2 is Coming to Xbox Game Pass
Throughout the latter half of this generation, the team at Xbox has made large strides at regaining the market share they had during the Xbox 360 years. Besides being one of the companies to push for cross-platform play, Xbox has recently been praised for its online subscription-based platform, Xbox Game Pass. While other companies have tried a similar strategy, no one has been able to match the success of Xbox in this category. In a blog post today, Xbox Community Manager Megan Spurr announced new titles that will be added to Xbox Game Pass.
Over the next couple of weeks, several games will be added to the service at no extra cost. The list of added games includes Forager (July 16), Mount & Blade: Warband (July 16), Carrion (July 23), Golf With Your Friends (July 23), Grounded (July 28), Nowhere Prophet (July 30), The Touryst (July 30), and Yakuza Kiwami 2 (July 30). While the announcement of all the games is exciting, the most notable game is Yakuza Kiwami 2. Although the game first launched on the PS4 on December 7, 2017 in Japan and August 28, 2018, worldwide, the release of Yakuza Kiwami 2 on Game Pass will be the first time the game will be available on an Xbox platform.
In addition to the upcoming games, the post also highlighted recent arrivals on that platform that were not announced prior to their lunch. This includes Endless Space 2 (PC), Halo 3 (PC), and Neon Abyss (Console and PC).Â
While most of the news from the blog post was positive, Spurr also announced that three games will be leaving the platform at the end of the month. On July 31, Ashes Cricket, RiME, and The Banner Saga 3 will no longer be playable for subscribers. For those wanting to try the service, one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can still be purchased for one dollar.
