PlayStation Magazine Drops A Bunch Of New Details
While several games have experienced major delays this season, Ghost of Tsushima is so far still on track. The official PlayStation Magazine revealed this, along with many more details, in their latest issue. Beyond the confirmed release date, this issue also dives into the game’s open world ethos. We’ll be exploring this gorgeous world in depth! And also killing people.
A Reddit post by user Hunbbel sums up some of the issue’s major points regarding Ghost of Tsushima. The team at Sucker Punch has drafted Shigeru Umebayashi to do the soundtrack. His other composing credits include House Of Flying Daggers, Yumeji, and Fearless. So you know the music is going to be excellent. This is apparently not the only move towards immersion the developers are making, either.
It seems that the game won’t feature any waypoints, forcing the player to navigate the island using more traditional methods. Landmarks, contextual knowledge, that sort of thing. Also, time will slowly pass as you play, with titles letting you know how long it’s been since the invasion of the island began. The game’s measured, deliberate pace is neatly juxtaposed by the combat, with a spicy blend of stealth and skill-based murder being your main tools. In other words, Sucker Punch is doing all they can to create an immersive action story. We’ll see a lot more of it as the June 26th release date creeps ever closer.
