Not Again…..
The Wastelanders DLC for Fallout 76 will be delayed once again. The Wastelanders update has been hailed by the Fallout community as one of the last things that will save the game. If you have been living in a cave for the past few years, Fallout 76 had a horrendous launch that was filled to the brim with bugs and other technical problems. This new coveted update will be finally be bringing in NPC’s into the game. Something that should provide a certain amount of content that 76 is so obviously lacking.
While this news might not be the best to hear if you are a Fallout fan, all hope is not lost. The Wastelanders DLC is still coming, and it has only been pushed back a week. This is of course still a major annoyance to many, but it should not act as a deal-breaker. The reason the DLC has been pushed back is thanks to the coronavirus. Due to the numerous safety precautions that Bethesda has had to take in order to protect its employees from the deadly virus, it has slowed down productivity.
Fallout 76 needs Wastelanders to be its saving grace. This is what some might call a “Hail Marry.” If this does not pan out, Fallout 76 will have passed the Rubicon in terms of coming back from its launch in 2018. Even if this does turn the game around, those within the gaming industry are still going to hold Fallout 76 up as an example of what not to do. The only good thing that can come out of what Fallout 76 has become is if Bethesda uses it as a teachable moment and never does this again. The next Elder Scrolls is around the corner. For the sake of everything that is nice. Please don’t mess that up.
