New Posters Have Just Been Revealed for The Witcher Series on Netflix
The countdown is officially on until The Witcher Netflix series is released and as the date draws closer, more and more content is being revealed. Netflix has recently dropped three new character posters that all look amazing and the production team has also addressed Geralt’s infamous swords.
NX on Netflix recently took to Twitter to share not one, but three character posters and they all look incredible. The posters showcase Henry Cavill as Geralt, with a caption that reads “Created by Fear,” Freya Allen as Ciri with a caption that says, “Created by Prophecy,” and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer with a line that states, “Created by Power.” You can check them out below.

Now, as the hype continues to grow for The Witcher Netflix adaption, and with a brand new trailer out, the executive producer Tomek Baginski, and showrunner Lauren Hissrich confirmed that Geralt will have both of his swords. As it turns out, the team has taken their approach for his swords from the original novel, instead of from the popular video games. Hissrich said, “Geralt obviously has two swords in the show, and we see him mostly with his steel sword on his back. Coming into the series I always assumed that he would actually use the silver sword more than he does.”
Baginski confirms that while Geralt will have both, wielding a particular one will depend on the situation. “Geralt is a monster hunter, but this danger coming in is coming very often from the human side, and we never forgot about the second sword. The second sword is there with the horse. This is how it was originally done in Andrzej Sapkowski’s stories.”
The Witcher Season 1 will arrive on Netflix on December 20th. What do you think about the new posters? And what do you think about the Geralt’s selective use of his swords? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
