Hard Details About Hotel Barcelona are Currently Scarce
Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro and Goichi “Suda51” Suda announced a new horror game currently titled “Hotel Barcelona” on Wednesday during an IGN Japan livestream. Neither developer gave hard details about what exactly this new game’s premise will be but did say that it could come out for mobile devices, Google Stadia, and Nintendo Switch.
Suda and Suehiro said that Hotel Barcelona will involve playing as multiple characters and will feature “timelines” for players to see. Also, the game could be about a serial killer or ghost who hunts hotel’s residents and a journalist who is reporting on the hotel’s opening.
They’re also not even sure if the game will take place in Barcelona and other locations such as South Africa and Tokyo were reportedly mentioned.
However, according to IGN, the pair are sure they want the game to be “light and easy to play”. They also claimed that they spoke with publisher Devolver Digital and gave the publisher an estimate of $1 million USD for the game’s development but Devolver Digital claims that this never happened.
