The highly anticipated strategy RPG series graces the Switch with its latest entry, and it has absolutely been worth the wait. Sporting well-tuned, strategic gameplay and a story that many are touting as one of the best in the series, there’s plenty to like about this one. Tasked with raising the next generation of warriors and mages at the illustrious Garreg Mach Monastery, you’ll be presented with plenty of options on how to go about things. We could go on, but why not peep our video review for Three Houses right below? We delve into just how much there is to do while you build your army of veritable supersoldiers.
Fire Emblem Three Houses casts you as the enigmatic Byleth, the son or daughter of a renowned mercenary. Shortly into the game, you encounter three lords on the run from a pack of bandits thanks to a training exercise gone wrong. Using your tactics and swordsmanship, you make an inadvertently strong case for your skills, and are soon employed at the massive Garreg Mach Monastery. Not all is at it may seem on the surface though, and you’ll be presented with many tough choices across the campaign. The Fire Emblem series is noted for its permadeath mechanic, and it feels like that has even more weight than before, so it is on you to make sure your students live to see their next exam.
Fire Emblem Three Houses is available now on Nintendo Switch, but if our review didn’t do enough to sway you, why not head on over to the main site for further details?
