Red Dead Redemption 2 Gunfight Gameplay Leaks Online

Well, That Didn’t Take Long

In case you’re wondering, Red Dead Redemption 2 is already in the hands of players. People have their means, but that’s not the point. With the red in the hand of randoms, some new info is bound to get leaked ahead of schedule. Like today.

While reviews for Red Dead Redemption 2 are sizzling, a piece of gameplay came out from the western wilds. The footage is bound to get taken down sooner or later, but at the time of this writing, it’s still live. The brief clip shows Arthur Morgan briefly patting his horse before he wreaks havoc against a random group of guns. It does look like a scene straight out of a western, which should be extra fun for fans of that film genre.

There are a few other things worth noting about the short clip, such as the slow-mo kill cam. The camera motion seems similar to that of Spider-Man and Rocksteady’s Arkham games, where defeating the last opponent in a gang triggers a slow and cinematic shot—more literal in this sense. You’ll also not the familiar mini-map, the Wanted system, and the weapon radial menu. What’s more of a headscratcher is the premium cigarette pack that contains a “collectible cigarette card.” Cigarettes packs that double as trading card packs seem like an interesting choice of collectible.

Check out the footage before it’s taken down, and let us know your thoughts on collectible cigarettes. Stay tuned for additional Red Dead Redemption 2 tidbits; more are getting leaked as we speak. One recent piece of info we learned is that physical copies will contain two disks, so make room on your hard drive.

Happy gaming.
