Former Members of Rocksteady, Ninja Theory and More
Playground Games has been collecting team members for an upcoming project. Rather than a racing game, such as Forza Horizon 4, it looks like this next project will be an open-world RPG. To that end, the studio has acquired new team members from Ninja Theory, Rocksteady, Bioware, Motive and Guerrilla games, to name a few.
According to Playground studio director Gavin Raeburn, this has been “a fantastic start for our second studio and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the coming months.” Indeed, if you’re looking to cook up an open-world RPG, these are the kind of people you want to acquire. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more promising team for such an endeavor.
So far, it looks like Environmental Artists Scotty Brown and Noel Lukasewich (of Bioware and EA) are on board. The studio also hired Rocksteady’s Lead Scriptwriter Martin Lancaster. Plus, Principal Animator Chris Goodall and QA Lead Technician Rob den Dekker of Ninja Theory are also on the team. Truthfully, this kind of info can only give us a glimpse at what this mystery project will be like. The game’s creative and directing leads will have a much bigger impact on the final product, yet it’s hard to ignore what seems like such good news.
