More Bite-Sized Basketball Incoming
Saber Interactive is bringing even more arcade-style hoop dreams our way with NBA Playgrounds 2. The sequel to their NBA Jam-style basketball title is coming to PC and consoles later this year. As this is pretty much the only form of basketball I can stand to play, this is great news!
The sequel promises to expand the way you play this time with a new worldwide ranked league system. Now you can see how badly you got dunked on relative to like, everyone on Earth! That’s cool. If nothing else, it’s a great way to push yourself to do better. There’s also better matchmaking and four-player online, as well as the return of stuff like three-point contests and custom matches.
Of course, we’ll also be getting improved player models and animations, as well as some new moves to mess about with. If you weren’t sold on the original concept, perhaps the same concept made better will have you reaching for your wallet. Personally, I’m sort of a sucker for any sports game that tastes like the ones I played as a child. There’s also a new trailer, which you can check out at your leisure below.
