The Biggest Launch of the Year Thus Far
The next leap in Capcom’s iterative series has arrived in the form of Monster Hunter: World. Players new and old can dive into the open world an experience with beautiful graphics and life-like monsters. Obtain it for the PlayStation 4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X.
In Monster Hunter: World, follow the journey of the elder dragons as they begin their once a decade migration across the sea to a land known as the New World in an event referred to by inhabitants as the Elder Crossing. As part of the Guild’s Research Commission, players must embark on a grand journey to this massive, mysterious land and uncover the secrets behind this phenomenon. As hunters set out on their quests, the Commission’s sights are set on Zorah Magdaros, a colossal elder dragon that rises from the earth like a volcano.
Over its lifespan, Monster Hunter has witnessed over 40-million sold copies and found a home in multiple systems. Today marks its return to PlayStation after a more than 10 years, as well its first-ever debut on the Xbox platform. Skilled-based progression and crafting are still the heart and soul of the series, but the design has been streamlined this time around. Starting February 8th, PlayStation 4 players can embark on a series of quests themed after Horizon: Zero Dawn. These entail the opportunity to customize your Palico to look like one of the IP’s machines. Of course, well beyond release, there will be many more quests and additional add-ons in the form of free monsters to hunt. Stay tuned for updates from Capcom as times goes by. And if you’re still waiting for the PC version, you’ll have to be patient since it won’t arrive until Fall.
