In Case You Don’t Want to Explore All of Egypt
For those of you who were hoping to experience ancient Egypt without additional purchases, you were wrong. One thing you shouldn’t be, however, is surprised. Helix credits are back and, apparently, they serve all kinds of purposes.
As you expected, the Helix Credits will be available via real-world currency and you will be able to spend them on loot boxes. Those loot boxes were revealed not too long ago. Remember? But, according to Ubisoft, these loot boxes will have no effect on gameplay. Whether you believe that is entirely up to you.
The list of microtransactions has been posted on the GameStop page, with packages costing upwards of $49.99. Nothing new. And according to that page, their purpose is as follows:
This pack contains 7400 Helix Credits for Assassin’s Creed Origins including 2400 bonus Helix Credits. Helix Credits can be used to unlock extra items, in-game currency, resources and more.
Our guess is that everything dropped in loot boxes will be purely cosmetic. Still, we must wait for Assassin’s Creed Origins to arrive before we know for sure. Afterward, we can distinguish which items can be received with in-game currency vs virtual currency.
Assassin’s Creed Origins arrives on October 27, 2017, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Will you be making use of the microtransactions? What are your thoughts on the return of Helix Credits? Let us know in the comments below.
