Explore Twisting Labyrinths in Escape the Backrooms
Escape the Backrooms is about to get even more terrifying and a whole lot stranger. Publisher Secret Mode has confirmed that the viral co-op horror hit will receive three new levels this December, including an After Party that promises cake, chaos, and plenty of reasons to run for your life. The announcement came during the triple-i Showcase, alongside news of upcoming cosmetics that will let players dress up as the very entities hunting them.
The After Party promises a bizarre change of pace, bringing a celebratory theme to the game’s usual horror-filled exploration. Players can grab some cake and enjoy the festivities, but don’t expect the Backrooms to stay friendly for long. The familiar threat of lurking entities will ensure that the party doesn’t last forever.
That’s not all, either. Free and paid cosmetics are scheduled to arrive in October, giving players new ways to customize their characters before the December update drops. The most intriguing addition? Players will soon be able to dress up as entities themselves, potentially making already tense co-op sessions even more chaotic.
The latest announcement comes as Escape the Backrooms surpasses 12 million players, cementing its place as a major hit among co-op horror fans. The game supports up to four players, who must navigate more than 30 unsettling levels while avoiding hostile entities and other deadly hazards.
Escape the Backrooms is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
With three new levels and entity-inspired cosmetics on the way, the Backrooms are about to get even more unpredictable. Just remember that surviving the horrors is one thing, but surviving your friends dressed as the monsters might be another story entirely.
