Double Fine Productions is taking bus driving in a decidedly chaotic direction with Thank You Bus Driver, which launches on PC on October 14, 2026.
The game puts players behind the wheel of a town bus, where getting passengers from one stop to another is only part of the job. You’ll also have to deal with constantly changing rules, troublesome riders, tight schedules, and plenty of opportunities for things to go completely off the rails.
Keeping passengers in line is one of the game’s biggest priorities. Rules change regularly, and some passengers will inevitably test your patience. When that happens, you can step in and remind them who’s in charge of the bus.
Of course, actually reaching your destination is still important. You can follow the proper route, pull up your map at the worst possible moment, or take questionable shortcuts through fields and other obstacles. As long as you make it to the next stop, the passengers might let it slide.
Staying on schedule is where things get even more interesting. Happy passengers reward you with “Thank Yous,” which give you more time to keep the route moving. Collect enough of them, and you can unlock new bus decorations, town variants, and other goodies.
With its blend of absurd humor and chaotic driving, Thank You Bus Driver looks ready to turn an ordinary bus route into a complete disaster. Just remember to keep your passengers in line and get them there on time.
