Build Thriving Interstellar Hub in Spaceport Architect
Running an airport is already a logistical headache, but Spaceport Architect is taking the concept far beyond Earth. Swedish indie developer Djentsoft has announced its debut game, a 2D sci-fi business tycoon that puts players in charge of building, managing, and expanding a spaceport on a newly colonized planet.
The game’s Steam page and official announcement trailer are now live, giving players their first look at what to expect.
Inspired by airport management games like SimAirport and Airport CEO, Spaceport Architect puts a sci-fi spin on the familiar formula while making freight management a key part of the experience. Players will need to import enough cargo to keep the growing colony supplied, while also managing the passenger traffic that keeps the spaceport financially afloat.
Cargo logistics will directly affect the future of the spaceport. Poor planning could hurt the colony’s growth and even impact whether passenger contracts are offered, making it important to keep those supply lines running smoothly.
Djentsoft plans to release a demo in Q2 2027, followed by the full game in Q4 2027. The game will launch with English and Swedish localization, with more languages potentially added based on wishlist demand.
Spaceport Architect still has a way to go before launch, but its blend of space exploration, logistics, and classic tycoon management could make for an interesting addition to the genre.
