Hostile Lands Shoots Its Way Out of Early Access Today

Welcome to Hostile Lands

If you’re looking for a shooter where surviving one run only makes the next one more dangerous, Hostile Lands might be worth checking out. Perceiving Light has officially launched the skill-based bullet-hell shooter into version 1.0, bringing its Early Access journey to an end.

Hostile Lands wastes little time throwing players into the chaos. After crashing onto a distant planet, you’ll have to fight your way through hostile bandits, frantic encounters, and bullet-spewing bosses while searching for an escape pod. Getting out alive sounds like the goal, but there’s a catch: every successful escape raises the planet’s Hostility, making the next run even tougher.

The game features 36 playable characters, each with their own unique abilities, giving players plenty of ways to approach its fast-paced combat. While stronger weapons and damage upgrades are available, survival ultimately comes down to landing accurate shots, reading enemy attacks, timing your movements, and dodging seemingly impossible bullet patterns.

Fans of Nuclear Throne will immediately recognize the inspiration in tight arenas, aggressive enemies, and crunchy gunplay. Hostile Lands, however, adds its own twist by making every escape permanently affect what comes next.

Version 1.0 also introduces the complete character roster, additional bosses, and new endings. Two-player local co-op, controller support, and Remote Play Together are included as well, alongside a free demo.

Hostile Lands is available for just $9.99, with a 40% launch discount dropping it to $5.99. With its frantic combat and escalating stakes, the game looks ready to turn every successful escape into the start of an even wilder run.
