Eternal Blade Is Slashing Onto Steam With a Free Demo Coming Out This Week

Eternal Blade Will Also Feature in Steam Next Fest

Eternal Blade is bringing its manga-inspired world to Steam, and players won’t have to wait long to try it. Shibui Labs LLC has confirmed that the open-world souls-like RPG will get a free playable demo on October 2, 2026, ahead of its appearance in Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26.

The game follows Emerald, the last of the Murakai bloodline and daughter of the legendary Sensei Lux. After a Dark Warlord seals Lux and the Light Walker warriors inside the Soulless Citadel, Emerald must track down the Almighty Gemstones and wield the Eternal Blade before the traitorous Kage gets to them first.

Combat is built around precise timing. Successful parries charge the Almighty Power Meter, letting players switch weapons mid-parry, counterattack, and unleash powerful supernatural abilities. Outside of combat, the world opens up with areas such as Kubu Forest, Forbidden Forest, Fukushu Bay and Shamakai Marsh.

There’s plenty to do beyond the main story, too. Players can tackle enemy camps, puzzles and side quests while hunting, fishing, cooking, crafting and using stealth to navigate the world. The demo will offer around an hour of the main quest, more than two hours of side content, and four bosses, including the dragon Enraku.

What makes Eternal Blade even more interesting is its development team. The entire game comes from just two people, with Izaac Rodrigues building it in Unreal Engine 5 over the past year.

The free demo should give players a solid first look at what this ambitious manga-to-game project has to offer. So, make sure to mark your calendars to be among the first to try this upcoming title.
