Build Your Dream Village Next to a Demon King’s Castle in Warota
oneoreight Inc. is opening the doors to the second beta test for Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL today, August 31, at 5:00 AM UTC. Unlike the previous Closed Beta Test, which was limited to Japanese, the new Open Beta Test will also support English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Warota puts players in the role of a character rescued by a goddess and transported to Luna, a ruined world controlled by the Demon King. As a rare “Bounder” with the power to create, players must rebuild their home, gather resources, recruit villagers, and turn a rundown settlement into a thriving village.
The game combines village-building with RPG and survival elements. Players can construct more than 30 different buildings, craft furniture, and grow crops. They can also assign villagers different jobs to keep the settlement running.
One of Warota’s more interesting mechanics involves hats. Each hat represents a different Class, allowing players to switch between more than 20 roles, including Farmers, Woodcutters, Warriors, and Mages. Villagers can also wear hats, giving them specialized roles both inside the village and during adventures.
Combat can be customized further through Divine Blessings found at Goddess Statues. These can increase attack power, improve recovery speed, or add elemental effects.
Of course, living next to the Demon King comes with problems. Whenever the Idol Demon King starts a “Live,” waves of monsters attack the village. Players will need to defend their home, defeat powerful bosses, and uncover the truth behind Luna.
With its unusual premise and mix of genres, Warota certainly looks like a game worth keeping an eye on.
