Become the Last Line of Defence in Hellbridge
Indie developer Dex Games Studio has announced that Hellbridge, a dark fantasy horde survival game, will launch on Steam on August 13. The game puts players in the role of a lone mage tasked with protecting the last remaining bridge between the living world and Hell.
What makes Hellbridge stand out is its unusual community-driven mechanic. Every player wishlist adds one extra enemy to the game’s final wave. So far, players have collectively added more than 2,500 enemies to the challenge.
That means the launch will answer one big question: can players actually survive the final wave, or will the massive horde overwhelm them?
In the game, players will need to defend the last stone bridge against increasingly dangerous waves of enemies while building their mage into a powerful killing machine. Each run lets players choose and evolve spells, allowing them to focus on damage, crowd control, or survival. Players can also strengthen their spirit companion, who serves as their only ally during the brutal battles.
When things get particularly intense, cursed gates will open and allow players to enter Hell itself. Defeating the threats inside and sealing the gates will give players the chance to return stronger and prepare for the next assault.
Hellbridge also features permanent upgrades, encouraging players to experiment with different strategies and gradually become more powerful with every run.
With fast movement, responsive combat, and an ever-growing enemy count, Hellbridge looks ready to deliver a chaotic survival experience. The bridge is waiting. Now, players just have to survive what they helped create when the game finally comes out this week.
