GunZ: The Duel Will Be Free-To-Play as Well
Masangsoft has officially announced that GunZ: The Duel will make its long-awaited global return on Steam on August 13, 2026. The remastered version of the iconic third-person action shooter aims to deliver a fairer and more modern experience while staying true to the fast-paced gameplay that made the original a fan favorite.

Known for its acrobatic movement system, including wall-running, aerial combat, high-speed dashes, and the skill-intensive “K-Style” combat, GunZ: The Duel built a dedicated community over the years. Now, after months of global playtests, the Steam release arrives with a wide range of improvements shaped by player feedback.
One of the biggest changes is the complete removal of pay-to-win mechanics. Character progression and equipment no longer provide stat advantages, with gear now serving only as cosmetic customization. Weapons have also been rebalanced by type and weight to create a more competitive, skill-based experience.
The remastered edition also features upgraded visuals while preserving the game’s signature style. Players can expect a redesigned user interface, an adjustable FOV slider, improved hit markers, enhanced multikill notifications, damage effects, and several other quality-of-life improvements requested by the community.
The devs have also expanded the customization options with hundreds of new outfits and visual effects, while the launch version introduces new maps, game modes, and equipment. Masangsoft also plans to support both official tournaments and community competitions, alongside creator-focused features such as Twitch Drops, Medal.tv integration, and its LUDENUS CREATORS program.
With a focus on skill-based gameplay and meaningful community support, GunZ: The Duel looks set to give both returning veterans and new players plenty of reasons to jump back into the action when it launches later this month.
