Dirtnap Blasts Its Way to Steam Early Access Today

Join the Multiplayer Chaos in Dirtnap

Things are about to get messy! Indie combat game Dirtnap has officially launched in Early Access on Steam, throwing players into fast-paced battles where they can practically destroy everything around them. Priced at $7.99, the game supports up to 10 players and centres on one major idea: tear up the battlefield and use the chaos to your advantage.

The terrain in Dirtnap is completely destructible, allowing players to dig tunnels, blast massive holes, and reshape the battlefield during a match. Things get even more unpredictable when water, mud, lava, and fire start flowing through the destruction.

Players can jump into matches solo or with up to nine other players through Steam, local LAN, or split-screen, with bots available to fill empty spots. There are also seven unique Dirtling classes, each featuring its own melee weapon and abilities. Across four different biomes, players can get their hands on more than 30 weapons.

Dirtnap currently features five multiplayer modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Battle Royale, Capture the Flag, and a four-round Tournament mode where previous placements carry over and catch-up points help keep matches competitive.

If multiplayer chaos isn’t your thing, you can jump into a single-player roguelike campaign instead. You can generate maps procedurally or create your own, while Steam Workshop support gives players even more room to experiment.

Part Time Monkey, Unstable Entity, and Nitroyale developed Dirtnap in Finland using Godot 4, along with a custom destruction and fluid simulation system. With explosions, lava, collapsing terrain, and plenty of ways to cause trouble, this could be one Early Access game worth getting your hands dirty with.
