Let’s Break Some Bricks in BALL x PIT
Devolver Digital’s hit indie roguelite BALL x PIT has received its final free content update, giving players one last major batch of fresh content to explore. Called The Naturalist Update, the expansion is available now across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, as well as mobile devices.
The update arrives alongside another major milestone for the brick-breaking roguelite. Following its award-nominated debut in 2025, BALL x PIT has now surpassed 2 million copies sold across all platforms, cementing its place as one of Devolver Digital’s biggest indie successes.
The Naturalist Update introduces two new playable characters that offer different ways to approach each run. The Ballbearer focuses entirely on offense by doubling the number of Ball slots available, sacrificing passive items in exchange for overwhelming firepower. Meanwhile, the Hoary Hoarder carries only two Ball slots but gains twice the passive item capacity, allowing powerful item combinations to take center stage.
Players can also experiment with 11 new balls that add even more variety to combat. Highlights include the Lightning Bug, which summons fireflies that zap nearby enemies, the Drill, capable of piercing through multiple foes, and Armageddon, which rains devastating meteors onto the battlefield.
Five new passive items further expand build possibilities. The Platinum Dumbbell rewards accurate shots with increased damage, Inglorious Hammer lets balls strike random enemies after bouncing off walls, while Remote Detonator turns defeated enemies into explosive Bomb Balls.
Although The Naturalist Update marks the game’s final free content drop, the developers have hinted that more exciting BALL x PIT news is on the horizon.
