Streetlight Syndicate, the upcoming crime-themed incremental game from solo developer BeagleGuy, is officially launching on Steam tomorrow, July 27. Set against the backdrop of 1920s prohibition-era New York, the game puts players in the shoes of an aspiring gangster looking to climb the ranks of organized crime.
Players begin with nothing and gradually build a criminal empire by managing 20 different rackets, taking risks in underground gambling activities, battling rival hitmen, and earning the trust of Don Salvatore Russo. As your reputation grows, you’ll unlock new opportunities, stronger weapons, and fresh story developments.
Unlike many endless incremental games, Streetlight Syndicate offers a structured campaign built around 10 ascension levels. Each ascension resets your criminal operations but rewards Notoriety, a permanent resource used to unlock lasting upgrades. This system also pushes the narrative forward, introducing new activities, tougher enemies, and multiple story paths.
The game features a four-branch skill tree with more than 40 upgrades, while gambling options such as 3 Card Monte, Horse Racing, and the Numbers Racket become available as you rise through the underworld. These side activities can quickly generate funds for expanding your empire.
Players can also expect over 5,000 words of character dialogue, unique stories tied to every racket owner, multiple weapon tiers for hitman battles, optional idle automation, and several endings shaped by in-game decisions. A full playthrough can take around four hours for those who optimize their progress.
