Stoneguard Arrives on Steam Early Access With Sandbox Survival and Strategy

Welcome to Stoneguard

ThornSpire Games has officially launched Stoneguard in Steam Early Access, giving players the chance to jump into its unique mix of medieval strategy, sci-fi survival, and intense horde defense gameplay. Developed by the husband-and-wife indie team, the title is now available on Steam for $6.99, with a 15% launch discount running through August 6.

Stoneguard

Stoneguard combines the freedom of a sandbox survival game with the tactical depth of a real-time strategy experience. Players take on the role of the Ruler of Earth, who has escaped the capital while carrying the powerful Lifestone, humanity’s last hope against an alien invasion. The goal is simple but challenging: build a thriving settlement during the day and defend it from relentless waves of enemies after nightfall.

Players can gather resources, recruit survivors, construct walls, towers, and other defenses, then coordinate their forces to survive increasingly dangerous nighttime attacks. The game supports solo play as well as online co-op for up to four players, allowing teams to share resources and work together to protect the Lifestone.

Unlike traditional strategy games, Stoneguard places players directly on the battlefield in a third-person perspective. Combat is brutal and tactical, with enemies and allies capable of permanently losing limbs during battle. Players can even forge powerful new weapons using the remains of defeated monsters, while the Lifestone offers a way to recover from devastating injuries.

Stoneguard will continue evolving throughout Early Access, with ThornSpire Games encouraging community feedback to help shape future updates on the road to its full 1.0 release.

If you’re looking for a fresh take on survival and strategy games with cooperative gameplay, this title will definitely be worth keeping an eye on.
