Solo developer Martynas Antipenkovas has released a free Steam demo for Iter, giving players an early look at the upcoming top-down action-adventure game that blends challenging combat with deep character customization.
Inspired by the precision and intensity of Soulslike games, Iter places a strong emphasis on stamina management, strategic battles, and enemy encounters that require careful timing and skill. Rather than relying on button-mashing, every fight encourages players to study enemy attack patterns and make thoughtful decisions during combat.
In Iter, players take on the role of a lone hunter traveling through an ancient forest. The journey takes an unexpected turn after a mysterious force draws the hunter toward the entrance of an abandoned tomb hidden within a hillside. Although every instinct says to turn back, the strange call becomes impossible to ignore. As players descend deeper into the tomb, they will uncover its secrets while facing dangerous creatures and deadly obstacles.
The demo showcases several of the game’s core features, including dungeon-crawling exploration, Souls-inspired combat, and a variety of unique enemies.
