Spitfire Interactive and Spicy Koala have officially launched Hand of Fate: Hordes in Steam Early Access, bringing the acclaimed Hand of Fate universe back with a fresh gameplay twist. Instead of its signature card-based RPG format, the new title blends survivor-like bullet heaven action with strategic deckbuilding, offering a fast-paced dark fantasy experience where every run feels different.
Set beyond the mysterious 13th Gate, players must battle endless waves of enemies while facing challenges created by the banished Dealer. As they progress, they will encounter narrative events, complete quests, and unlock tokens that strengthen future runs. The game’s tarot-inspired aesthetic and deckbuilding mechanics remain central to the experience, adding strategy to the chaotic action.
Hand of Fate: Hordes features four playable heroes, each with their own combat style. Players can choose from the Trickster, Goblin, Warrior, or Rebel, with every character offering a unique mix of ranged, melee, and magical abilities. A growing collection of cards, weapons, blessings, and gameplay modifiers encourages players to experiment with different builds and strategies.
Fans of the original series will also welcome the return of Anthony Skordi as the voice of the Dealer, reprising the role that became one of the franchise’s defining features.
Creative Director Cade Franklin said the team is excited to bring the game to players and plans to expand it throughout Early Access, with community feedback shaping future updates.
Hand of Fate: Hordes is available now on Steam for $11.99, with a 20% launch discount during the first two weeks. Players can also purchase an optional Supporter Pack for $4.99 that includes exclusive cosmetic items.
