Enjoy the Comedy and Horror in DREGS
T-Minus Zero Entertainment has unexpectedly launched its debut title, DREGS, on Steam Early Access. The four-player co-op horror-comedy is available now for $9.99, with a 15% launch discount running until July 24.
Developed by the newly independent Austin, Texas-based studio, DREGS puts players in the role of expendable clones sent to abandoned deep-space facilities on dangerous salvage missions. Their employer remains a mystery, but the items they’re asked to recover are anything but glamorous. Instead of priceless relics, players collect oddball objects like rubber ducks, plush toys, and scented candles left behind by a long-lost civilization.
Every mission blends exploration, environmental hazards, cooperative puzzles, and terrifying encounters as teams work together to survive. Of course, things rarely go according to plan. Poor decisions, deadly traps, and even “accidental” betrayals from teammates can quickly turn a mission into complete chaos. Thankfully, the game instantly replaces every fallen clone, keeping the mayhem and laughter going.
Inspired by the social co-op experiences that made games like Lethal Company and Content Warning popular, DREGS focuses on creating memorable moments between friends, whether it’s a failed rescue, a last-second escape, or a hilarious disaster that becomes an inside joke after the match ends.
DREGS also marks a fresh beginning for T-Minus Zero Entertainment. Originally established as a AAA studio under NetEase Games in 2023, the team chose to rebuild independently after the studio’s closure. CEO Zachary “Zac” Beaudoin said the developers refused to give up, restarted the studio, and spent the last nine months creating DREGS from the ground up.
With its mix of horror, teamwork, and unpredictable comedy, DREGS looks set to offer plenty of chaotic adventures for players diving into Early Access.
