What Have You Done, Father? Brings Its Chilling Confessional Horror to Consoles

Find the Truth in What Have You Done, Father?

A chilling new psychological thriller has made its way to consoles, inviting players to uncover a story buried in guilt and secrecy. What Have You Done, Father?, developed by Romanian studio Darkania Works, is now available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and the Windows Store. The release also includes enhanced compatibility for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Set in a quiet Transylvanian parish during the 1940s, the game follows Father Mathias Marton. He is a young priest whose hidden past begins to unravel after a woman is found dead inside his rectory. What begins as a mystery slowly turns into something far more unsettling, as players piece together the truth through journals, photographs, and locked rooms that refuse to give up their secrets easily.

The rectory itself plays a central role in the experience. Its damp corridors and forgotten spaces act as both a setting and a storyteller, holding fragments of the past that echo with unease. Drawing inspiration from noir cinema, the narrative blends psychological tension with subtle supernatural elements. Thus, blurring the line between guilt and something more sinister.

The developer has fully optimized the console version, offering improved visuals, smoother controls, and better accessibility. Additional language support also ensures that a wider audience can step into this haunting tale.

Originally released on PC in April 2024, the title earned a “Very Positive” reception on Steam, with players praising its immersive storytelling and distinct religious noir tone.

With its slow-burning tension and unsettling themes, What Have You Done, Father? promises to offer a gripping experience that lingers well after the credits roll.
