New Game Modes Also Await in Mahjong Soul
Mahjong Soul has officially reunited with the legendary manga Akagi for a highly anticipated collaboration rerun, and it is now live with fresh content for players to dive into. Running from June 16 to July 7, 2026 (UTC-7), the event brings back fan-favorite elements while introducing a few exciting additions.

Titled “The Night of Legends,” the limited-time event revives two popular game modes, Battle of Clairvoyance and Battle of Darkness. Players can earn event tokens by participating in Ranked Matches or by jumping into these special modes. As tokens stack up, milestone rewards unlock, giving players a steady stream of exclusive content to chase.
The collaboration also marks the return of two iconic characters from the Akagi universe. Shigeru Akagi, the mysterious prodigy known for his fearless and almost supernatural approach to mahjong, once again takes the spotlight. Alongside him is Iwao Washizu, the calculating and powerful rival whose presence adds intensity to every match. Both characters now feature brand-new animated skins, giving them a fresh visual edge.
In addition to character content, the update brings back the “Showdown of Light and Shadow” outfit series and a collection of themed decorations. Items like the Night of Legends tablecloth, Crest of Two Vultures tile back, and dramatic riichi effects help capture the dark, high-stakes atmosphere fans love.
Overall, this rerun feels like a strong mix of nostalgia and new flair, offering both returning players and newcomers a good reason to step back into the game.
