Socialiskigrad Announced with First Trailer, Blending City Building and Politics

Wishlist Socialiskigrad on Steam Now

Italian indie developer Sgriusoft has officially unveiled Socialiskigrad, a new tile-based city-building strategy game, along with its debut trailer and Steam page. Set in a fictional post-Soviet republic during the late 20th century, the game offers a fresh take on the genre by blending traditional city-building systems with political progression.

In Socialiskigrad, players step into the role of a mayor tasked with shaping a newly established nation. The city grows tile by tile, as players carefully design districts while managing economic development, public services, and overall social stability. Progression plays a key role, allowing players to climb the political ladder, with the ultimate aim of becoming the President of the Republic.

The game features 14 distinct districts spread across four varied biomes, including seaside, forest, countryside, and steppe regions. Each area presents unique opportunities and challenges, as players construct residential zones, industrial hubs, transport systems, hospitals, markets, and large public landmarks inspired by Balkan-style architecture.

Beyond construction, Socialiskigrad leans heavily into management. Players must oversee critical systems such as energy, workforce, healthcare, food supply, and security, while also dealing with corruption, workers’ strikes, and unexpected emergencies. City council demands further additions to the decision-making pressure.

With its official trailer now live and the Steam page open for wishlisting, Socialiskigrad is shaping up to be an ambitious entry in the city-building space. If executed well, it could offer a compelling mix of strategy, management, and political progression.
