North Hunt Is Bringing Its Social Deduction on Steam Early Access Next Week

Make Sure to Catch the Thief in North Hunt

NewGen Studio has officially confirmed that its upcoming social deduction title North Hunt will launch in Early Access on April 16, 2026. The announcement arrives alongside a brand-new trailer, offering a closer look at the game’s upgraded visuals, refined systems, and evolved gameplay direction.

Building on the foundation of West Hunt, the new title marks a notable step forward for the studio. While the original leaned into chaotic and humorous deception, North Hunt introduces a more strategic and immersive multiplayer experience, while still retaining the unpredictability that made its predecessor memorable.

Set within a detailed Viking village, the game revolves around deception, observation, and timing. Players take on the roles of either thieves or chiefs. Thieves must blend in with NPC villagers while completing hidden objectives, whereas chiefs rely on deduction and awareness to identify them before they escape. Each match plays out like a tense mind game, where even the smallest action can expose a player or turn the tide.

Flexibility remains a key focus, with multiple modes including 1v1 duels and team-based matches of up to 4v4. Players can also experiment with custom setups, allowing for both tightly coordinated sessions and more chaotic group play.

Over the past two years, the developers have reworked core systems across the board. Improvements include smoother gameplay, expanded class options, a revamped UI, and better matchmaking. According to CEO Seif, the game reflects lessons learned from West Hunt, aiming to deliver a more polished yet familiar experience.

As North Hunt enters Early Access, ongoing community feedback is expected to shape its future updates and long-term development.
