METRO ReturnsÂ
The nuclear wasteland of Moscow awaits once more. This time, players will head back into the claustrophobic tunnels full of psychological horror and further beyond. Today, Deep Silver and the team behind METRO are happy to reveal the next installment in the acclaimed post-apocalyptic FPS: METRO 2039. In this installment of the series, players will take on the role of a new character, The Stranger, and venture down into a much different Metro than they have come to know. A press release provides more details. Additionally, the new trailer gives gamers their first look at the wasteland that awaits.Â
METRO 2039 reintroduces players to the radiated wastes of Moscow and the tunnels beneath. However, these days the metro’s warring factions that have fought and died for control of the tunnels for a quarter of a century are seeing unity. Beneath a new banner, The Novoreich, the factions have come together. Yet, under the leadership of legendary Spartan, Hunter, not all is as well as it seems. The denizens of the metro feed on propaganda and suffer under the authoritarian regime. Now, as The Stranger, players will venture once more into the iconic storytelling of the series.Â
