Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish Brings the Classic RPG Series Back to Life

Enter the World of Darkness in Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish

During the Xbox Partner Showcase, publisher NACON and developer Teyon officially revealed Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, a brand-new action RPG set in the iconic World of Darkness universe. Known for their work on RoboCop: Rogue City, the studio is bringing back one of the most recognizable tabletop-inspired franchises, marking its return to video games after more than two decades.

Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is a first-person, single-player experience that places players in the role of a Hunter navigating a sprawling version of New York City. In this dark setting, supernatural creatures such as vampires and werewolves secretly exist among ordinary citizens. Players uncover this hidden world and take on the responsibility of tracking and eliminating these threats while the public remains unaware.

The game emphasizes player freedom and customization, allowing players to build their Hunters similarly to their tabletop counterparts. Exploration plays a key role, with side quests and clues scattered across the city, helping players prepare for encounters against powerful enemies. Combat can be approached in multiple ways, including confrontation, stealth tactics, or strategic planning, supported by a variety of ranged and melee weapons.

Players will also work alongside a group of five companions, each with distinct personalities and storylines. These allies provide support during missions, and relationships can evolve, including potential romance options. Choices made throughout the game shape the narrative, affecting alliances, outcomes, and even the Hunter’s standing with law enforcement.

Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in summer 2027. So, make sure to keep an eye out for the return of this cult horror classic.
