Rescue Your Girl in Super Meat Boy 3D
Developer Sluggerfly and publisher Headup have confirmed that Super Meat Boy 3D will launch across a wide range of platforms, including Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and now, Nintendo Switch 2. The upcoming title marks a bold new chapter for the famously punishing franchise as it leaps into full 3D.
A newly released trailer offers a deeper look at the chaotic platforming action players can expect. Featuring Steve Marcois of the iconic deathcore band Despised Icon, the trailer showcases more levels, devious traps, and returning characters than ever before. All while definitely not hiding any secrets whatsoever. Marcois lends his intense vocals to the soundtrack, adding a ferocious edge to the game’s high-stakes energy.
“As a life-long gamer, being involved in the soundtrack of Super Meat Boy 3D was such an honor, albeit a true test of perseverance,” Marcois shared. He revealed that work on the track began two years ago, expressing pride in how the song captures the emotional core of the story. He hopes players will feel that passion when they dive into the game.
This upcoming entry reimagines the brutal precision-platforming formula in a fully three-dimensional world. Players once again guide a cube of meat on a perilous mission to rescue his bandage-made girlfriend from an evil fetus in a tuxedo jar. Expect relentless wall-jumping, deadly buzz saws, collapsing environments, towering boss fights, countless deaths, and plenty of hidden surprises, all delivered with the series’ signature old-school difficulty, now from an entirely new perspective.
