Montreal-based indie developer Artifice Studio has announced that its new turn-based RPG, Legends of the Round Table, will launch on PC via Steam on March 31, 2026. The studio’s latest project offers a bold reinterpretation of the enduring Arthurian mythos, blending historical authenticity with modern tactical design.

Inspired by the legends of King Arthur and his knights, Legends of the Round Table transports players into a richly realized medieval world defined by honor, magic, and romance. Designed for fans of strategic depth and narrative immersion, the game emphasizes meaningful decisions and lasting consequences.

Combat centers on a chivalric turn-based system where each encounter carries significant weight. Players engage in mounted charges, tense duels, and unforgiving skirmishes that feature permanent loss and squire management. All while reinforcing the realities of medieval warfare and the code of honor that governs it.

Visually, the game draws inspiration from 13th-century illuminated manuscripts, with hand-painted artwork that evokes the era’s distinctive style. An authentic soundtrack featuring live lute and harp performances enhances the atmosphere. This includes haunting vocals by Anne Azéma of The Boston Camerata.

Narrative-driven quests unfold through branching storylines shaped by moral choices, political intrigue, and romance. Players lead legendary figures such as Lancelot, Gawain, and King Arthur, managing not only their combat abilities but also their evolving traits and personal motivations as they age, triumph, and ultimately leave their legacy on the Round Table.

Director Yan Pepin said, “We wanted to move away from the typical RPG power fantasy and instead focus on knights driven by honor and moral duty.” He also mentioned that the team poured years into making an experience where chivalry and honor drive the adventure. This will allow players to forge their own Arthurian Legends.
