Katanaut Is Launching Its v1.1 Tomorrow, Introducing Global Leaderboards, and More

New Features Are Coming to Katanaut

Voidmaw has announced that Katanaut v1.1 is arriving tomorrow, bringing a major update to its cosmic horror action roguelite game. Set aboard a vast space station collapsing into disorder, Katanaut blends fast-paced combat with a heavy atmosphere of isolation and dread. Each run offers deep build variety, allowing players to experiment with melee weapons, firearms, off-hand tools, skills, implants, and perks. The core experience combines the run-based structure of Dead Cells, the sharp intensity of Katana Zero, and the unsettling sci-fi tone of Dead Space.

The v1.1 update will introduce global leaderboards, a feature designed to encourage competition across multiple playstyles. There are six leaderboards in total, each displaying a visible trophy holder. Players who claim first place will have their achievement showcased in-game for everyone to see. Rather than focusing only on speed, the leaderboards track a range of accomplishments, including fastest completion times, total enemies defeated, and currency collected, opening the door to different strategies and goals.

Alongside the new competitive features, the update expands the game world with additional biomes, enemies, weapons, bosses, and unlockables. These additions will increase the game’s replay value while pushing players to adapt to new threats and environments.

Beyond v1.1, Voidmaw has also confirmed that Katanaut is coming to consoles. Development is underway for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch versions, with more detailed timelines and release information to be shared in the near future.
