Vagrus – The Riven Realms Keeps Expanding
Lost Pilgrims Studio has announced the release of At the Heart of Ruin, the most ambitious expansion yet for Vagrus: The Riven Realms on Nintendo Switch. After more than a year of focused development, the DLC arrived on Nintendo platforms on December 22, following its release elsewhere. The latter launch reflects the longer approval process on the platform rather than any changes to the content itself.
Alongside the expansion, the studio is also preparing the release of the Ruinous Supporter Pack. This optional add-on allows players to support the developers while unlocking a new cosmetic outfit for every companion character in the game. Each design draws inspiration from the factions and figures featured in At the Heart of Ruin. These appearances do not affect gameplay and serve solely as visual options for players who enjoy customizing their party. Store pages for the supporter pack will go live shortly after launch.
At the Heart of Ruin significantly expands the dark fantasy and narrative-driven core of Vagrus. The expansion takes players to the Mountains of Fire, a harsh and dangerous region where the decaying remains of an ancient Dwarven kingdom still cling to existence. Exploration in this area emphasizes risk and tension, with players often operating smaller parties while navigating treacherous mountain paths and confronting some of the most formidable enemies the game has introduced so far.
The expansion offers a wide range of new content, including carefully crafted storylines, distinct locations, and innovative mechanics that enhance the overall experience. Lost Pilgrims Studio has also confirmed plans to continue developing the expansion after release, extending one of its major story arcs through free updates to ensure it receives the depth and attention it deserves.
