The Return of Mega Man
Mega Man is ready to make a major comeback in 2027 with a new chapter in the long-running action platforming series, titled Mega Man: Dual Override. The announcement arrived during this year’s Game Awards and quickly became one of the most talked-about reveals of the show. The new title is planned for both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, along with additional platforms in the future.
Capcom shared a brief first look at the gameplay. The footage is short, yet it still offers a small taste of what fans can expect. The familiar style of platforming remains at the heart of the experience, with Mega Man moving through futuristic environments, tackling obstacles, and facing mechanical threats. Even with the short preview, the series’s signature rhythm of movement and combat is easy to recognize.
Capcom described the project as a fresh adventure designed to carry the classic formula into new territory. According to the studio, Mega Man will take on a wide range of robotic enemies while pushing through advanced frontiers filled with challenges. The idea is to bring back everything players enjoy about the series while introducing updated elements that reflect a new era for the franchise.
The Game Awards also brought another update from Capcom. The company confirmed that its sci-fi title Pragmata will arrive on the Switch 2 early next year. Capcom plans to support its release with an amiibo and a playable demo, giving fans an early chance to explore its world. Together, these announcements mark an eventful moment for Capcom and a promising lineup for Nintendo’s current and upcoming systems.
