Join the Battlefield in Tyr
Stoke Games has officially revealed Tyr, a new free-to-play multiplayer tank shooter that puts strategy ahead of reflexes. The studio released the game’s first trailer as well, giving players a look at its tactical, team-based combat. You can take a look at it yourself right below.
In Tyr, two teams of eight players battle across strategic arenas using a diverse lineup of armored vehicles. Each one comes with unique abilities and playstyles. Some tanks specialize in teleportation-style movement for quick repositioning. While others deploy sonar pulses to detect hidden threats or unleash powerful ramming attacks to dominate close-quarters combat. Each vehicle can be customized and upgraded, allowing players to tailor their tactics and experiment with different combinations.
After two years of private playtesting with a small, dedicated community, Stoke Games is opening Tyr’s closed playtest to a wider audience. The studio aims to bring in new players to refine balance, polish mechanics, and gather community feedback before launch.
“We’ve been building Tyr side-by-side with our community for a long time,” said Veigar Bouius, Co-Founder & Product Director at Stoke Games. “It started with a small group of players who believed in the idea and helped us shape it into something special. Now we’re ready to invite more people in, and this trailer is our way of saying, ‘Come see what we’ve been working on and help us take it to the next level.’”
