Stray Children Is Releasing Worldwide on 30th October 2025

Mysteries Await in Stray Children

Onion Games has announced that Stray Children will launch worldwide on October 30 for both Nintendo Switch and Steam. Originally released in Japan on Switch at the end of 2024, this new edition will feature full English support along with several updates and refinements, making it the definitive version of the game.

The project has been in the works for over a year, with the team carefully shaping it into a polished experience that captures the studio’s trademark mix of quirkiness and heart. Stray Children comes from many of the same developers responsible for cult favorites such as Chulip, Little King’s Story, Rule of Rose, Super Mario RPG, and Moon: Remix RPG Adventure, the latter of which Onion Games re-released in English in 2021.

The story begins in a secret room, where a curious boy switches on a dusty console and is pulled into a forgotten retro RPG world. He awakens in a strange land populated only by Children, who live within the walls of their stronghold. Outside lurk the Olders, monstrous adult figures burdened by self-doubt, regret, and unresolved pain.

Players will navigate this surreal world, battling Olders in turn-based combat. Victory does not always come through violence. Words can be just as powerful, allowing you to strike with whispers that pierce straight to the heart. By uncovering the secrets hidden beneath their emotional weight, you may even redeem the very souls of those you face.

Stray Children presents a bittersweet fairytale that mixes whimsy with sharp emotional themes. For those drawn to unusual RPGs with depth and imagination, this title promises something truly unique. So, make sure to grab a copy when it launches worldwide on October 30.
