Islanders: New Shores Rolls Out a Free Halloween Update

Things Are Getting Spooky in ISLANDERS: New Shores

Coatsink has rolled out a free Halloween themed update for ISLANDERS: New Shores, transforming its peaceful minimalist city builder into something a little more eerie. The update, now available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, introduces a chilling new Halloween biome, a dark and misty map that hides a mysterious secret.

The update brings a variety of new features to fit the spooky season. A new Boon called Replace has been added, along with seasonal decorations like pumpkins, gravestones, and glowing candles. Players can also discover eerie trees, some stripped bare and others adorned with candles. All these give the islands an atmospheric Halloween glow.

In addition to the new decor, players can unlock a haunting camera filter through the Clairvoyage challenge. There is also a fresh building facade for the Aviary through the Ghost Whisperer challenge. These are part of four new spooky themed challenges, each designed to reward exploration and creativity in the ghostly new setting. The Halloween biome also features an original soundtrack that perfectly matches its shadowy tone.

Other additions include new accessibility options for gamepad users, allowing smoother control customization. A new keybind lets players temporarily disable snapping for more precise building placement. The update also introduces six new achievements and trophies, giving players more goals to chase while they explore this haunting new version of their island world.

With its blend of cozy design and eerie surprises, this Halloween update brings a fresh and mysterious energy to ISLANDERS: New Shores, making it the perfect seasonal treat for creative builders.
