The shooter genre is developing in many different directions, and each new project tries to stand out from the crowd of competitors. Even the Call of Duty series is trying to make small changes and diversify the gameplay in some way. This top list is just an attempt to showcase some of the most anticipated projects coming in 2025.
Delta Force
PC users can already check out the online shooter Delta Force on Steam, EGS, and through the official launcher. The game was released in early access on 5 December 2024, and peak online numbers on Steam have remained around 100,000 people throughout the first week.
A minor problem is user ratings, which are marred by negativity towards the aggressive anti-cheat system, which works at the core level of the system but ultimately cannot cope with cheaters. In addition, negative comparisons with games such as Battlefield and Escape from Tarkov are often encountered.
This project stands out from other projects in terms of the number of game modes, platforms, and monetisation models. Currently, players can try out the 32v32 Warfare team mode and the Operation extraction mode for free.
Players can expect a wide selection of weapons, military equipment, operatives, and a ‘fair’ monetisation model based on cosmetic items. A full story campaign, console and mobile versions of the game are expected in early 2025.
Approximately every three months, new seasons will be released with new game modes, maps, equipment, and lots of new content.

Out of Action
If you are a fan of cyberpunk and exciting shootouts, then the first-person shooter Out of Action is made especially for you. Graphically, the project looks as if cyberpunk anime works from the 90s and 00s have come to life. The gameplay is dynamic and bloody action with dismemberment.
The developers promise a wide selection of weapons and additional devices that can be customised to suit your preferences. Progress and cosmetics are based entirely on the player’s achievements and results. The main feature of the game will be the Bullet Time slow-motion mechanic in multiplayer battles.
Players were able to get acquainted with the game in early 2024: offline matches against bots became available in January, and the long-awaited PvP mode was added in March. After receiving feedback from the first players, the developers ran two crowdfunding campaigns to attract sponsorship money to polish the game and planned a PC release in 2025.
Fate Trigger: The Novita
The battle royale game Fate Trigger: The Novita attracts attention primarily due to its bright anime style. However, if you take a closer look at the game, you can see its potential as a good shooter.
The game is set in a ruined world filled with floating islands, each of which presents unique challenges and opportunities for brave players. The developers have focused on fast-paced gameplay and strategic use of the game’s features: portals for moving around the map, gliding on updrafts, and much more. Each match will be a real race against time and a constant battle with other players.
In addition, the project will offer a variety of anime characters, customisable weapon models, and cosmetic items. Players will have to choose wisely, as the Time to Kill (TTK) is low and does not forgive mistakes.
Fate Trigger: The Novita is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X consoles, as well as mobile devices running iOS and Android. There is no release date yet, but the first closed beta test took place in September 2024, and since then, the developers have been gradually introducing players to the characters. So we can expect more extensive testing and a full release in 2025.
