A New Story for Pacific Drive
A chilling new chapter is about to unfold in the Olympic Exclusion Zone. Today, Ironwood Studios and publishing partner Kepler Interactive have unveiled Whispers in the Woods, a premium expansion for the acclaimed driving survival adventure Pacific Drive. Arriving later this year on PC and PlayStation 5, the expansion introduces players to an eerie tale of obsession, rituals, and the unknown.
In Whispers in the Woods, players encounter a fanatic group devoted to the Zone’s anomalies. Players can access the story after the first few hours of the base game, where it transports drivers into a shadowed forest marked by strange effigies and symbols. Within these haunting woods, they encounter new mysteries, face hidden dangers, and uncover Artifacts. These items grant strange, unpredictable effects and alter the gameplay.
The expansion introduces new junction types, anomalies, and behaviors that reshape exploration within the Zone. As players dig deeper, they will engage with the cult-like group’s altars, harness the unsettling power of their Artifacts, and customize their station wagon with fresh parts drawn from this ritual-filled setting.
Since its launch in February 2024, Pacific Drive has reached a milestone of over one million units sold worldwide across PlayStation 5 and PC. Ironwood Studios has consistently supported the game with substantial free updates, including the April Endless Expeditions update, which added limitless runs into the Zone and new progression features. Whispers in the Woods continues this momentum, offering a story expansion nearly one-third the size of the original game, promising hours of fresh content for both newcomers and seasoned drivers.
Whispers in the Woods is scheduled to launch later this year on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
