Meet the Band in Tiny Aquarium: Social Fishkeeping
Since its launch in June, Tiny Aquarium: Social Fishkeeping has charmed players with its cozy real-time aquarium sim, earning over 1,400 reviews and an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam. Today, Lunheim Studios and publisher Future Friends Games have released the game’s first major free update, playfully titled Shrimplosion.
Tiny Aquarium offers a soothing mix of fishkeeping and social play. The game runs quietly at the bottom of your screen while you work or study, encouraging short, relaxing sessions. Players can hatch and sell fish, decorate their tanks, visit friends’ aquariums, and even join social lobbies to fish together. With no stressful timers, the experience is designed to be both calming and rewarding.
The Shrimplosion update expands this world in several ways. A legendary shrimp band now takes center stage. Once placed in your tank, these four tiny rock stars will even perform their signature track. Alongside the band, the update introduces 15 new fish and crustaceans, including the whimsical sea bunny, plus 14 new decorations to customize aquariums further.
Players will also discover a new in-game currency, shells, which can be used to unlock exclusive cosmetics. A fresh shop tab, additional items such as mutators, and the powerful Instaclean tool capable of tidying up an entire aquarium in one swipe add more variety to daily play.
The update does not stop there. It expands the quest system with more challenges, grants players an extra tank, and marks the return of the limited-time Axolotl Event, a community favorite.
With its new content and playful shrimp headliners, the Shrimplosion update gives fans even more reasons to dive back into the relaxing waters of Tiny Aquarium: Social Fishkeeping.
