A Little Adventure Awaits in Time Flies
Publisher Panic and developer Playables are set to release Time Flies on July 31 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC. Priced at $14.99, the game will launch with a 10% discount for a limited time. You can check out the official release date trailer below to get a glimpse of the little adventure ahead.
First unveiled during the Day of the Devs 2022 showcase, Time Flies offers a hand-drawn, minimalist adventure that puts players in control of a fly with a long list of things to do before its brief life ends. Whether it’s learning an instrument, reading a book, getting rich, or simply relaxing with music, the game invites players to explore how they choose to spend their time.
Developers Michael Frei and Raphaël Munoz have created a reflective experience that blends humor with a subtle meditation on mortality. The game’s premise is simple but impactful: life is short, especially if you’re a fly, and what you do with your time is up to you.
“Flies are pretty annoying, and we’ve been listening to one every day for the past four years of game development,” says Frei. “Please do your part and Wishlist the game now, I really need therapy.”
Playables is also working on another project, Pocket Boss, a data-driven career simulator revealed at the Day of the Devs showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025.
With its unique concept, thoughtful design, and playful tone, Time Flies encourages players to make the most of every moment, however fleeting.
