Enter The Zone In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
GSC Game World has announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro in late 2025, following its successful global debut on PC and Xbox Series X|S in November 2024.
On PlayStation 5, the game will take full advantage of the DualSense controller’s capabilities, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, enhancing immersion as players explore the game’s bleak and mysterious world. The PS5 Pro version will receive further technical upgrades, with more information set to arrive closer to release.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is set in a fictional reimagining of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. After a second explosion rocks the Chornobyl reactor in 2006, the Zone becomes a deadly and unpredictable place filled with radiation, mutants, and strange anomalies. Treasure hunters, mercenaries, and wanderers venture into this hazardous landscape, each driven by different motives, from greed to redemption.
Players will take on the role of Skif, a lone stalker drawn into the Zone by unexpected events. As Skif, you’ll navigate faction rivalries, battle unknown threats, and uncover the secrets buried at the Heart of Chornobyl. The story unfolds through a non-linear narrative shaped by player choices, supported by over three hours of cinematic cutscenes.
Built using Unreal Engine 5 and photogrammetry, and informed by the developers’ on-site research in the real Exclusion Zone, the game promises an atmospheric, richly detailed experience. Dynamic encounters and branching storylines ensure that each playthrough offers something different, making S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 a truly immersive journey through one of gaming’s most dangerous frontiers.
